Certificate of BioSphere Additive
This is to certify the following verification of technical specifications and performance of biodegradation when utilizing the BioSphere Plastic Additive.
Products that are made with the BioSphere Plastic Additive comply with the ISO 14021:1999 "Environmental labels and declarations” under the definition of "Biodegradable".
Plastic products made with BioSphere Plastic Additive biodegrade in accordance with the following testing methods:
ASTM D5511 and ISO DIS 15985 "Anaerobic biodegradation of plastic materials under high solids environments"
ASTM D5526-12"Test method for determining Anaerobic Biodegradation of plastic materials under accelerated landfill conditions"
ASTM D5338 "Aerobic biodegradation of plastic materials"
BioSphere Plastic additive is Generally Regarded as Safe according to the FDA’s testing specifications set out in 21 CFR 177.1630 and 21 CFR 177.1520.
BioSphere Plastic has conducted testing to show it's product completely breaks down in accordance with the EPA Method 8015.
BioSphere Plastic is in compliance with the EU Directive 94/62/EC Directive on "Packaging and Packaging Waste" and complies with the following plastic directives "Directive 89/109/EEC" and "Directive 2002/72/EC".
